Aftermath
AVAILABLE, $1950. Original acrylic painting, 18”X36”, on 1.5” deep-edged canvas. Artwork continues on all four sides of painting.
December 2022 and the pandemic has finally passed us by, but the aftermath of the storm it created will be felt for years to come. The isolation, despair, and economic impact on us was great, yet still we stand, battered but not defeated.
Under the Highway Sun
AVAILABLE, $3600. Original acrylic painting, 30"X40”, on 1.5” deep-edged canvas. Artwork continues on all four sides of painting.
Exhibited October 1-22, 2024 at the FCA 2024 LIMITLESS Exhibition
A story of my artistic revelation in New Mexico, focused on an abandoned gas station in the town of Vaughn. I expected to find a rather dull and colourless landscape but instead I came to understand the reason New Mexico is known as the 'land of enchantment.' At every turn the sun warmed the land with a spectrum of colour, here painting the windows of an abandoned gas station with a searing reflection of the road.
Shades of New Mexico
AVAILABLE, $2700. Original acrylic painting, 30"X30”, on 1.5” deep-edged canvas. Artwork continues on all four sides of painting.
Exhibited October 1-22, 2024 at the FCA 2024 LIMITLESS Exhibition
An abandoned Sheriff's Office in the town of Vaughn, New Mexico. As the town slowly recedes into history, its dusty legacy remains as something of a natural, open-air museum. Dozens of abandoned homes and businesses sat wilting in the desert heat, creating dazzling colours due to the contrast between the warmth of the sun’s rays and the coolness of its hidden spaces.
20 Storeys
SOLD. Original acrylic painting, 30”x30”, on 1.5” deep-edged canvas. Artwork continues on all four sides of painting.
Exhibited February 1-28, 2025 at the FCA 2025 Artists’ Choice Exhibition
A look from a 20th-floor balcony from one residential tower to another in Vancouver’s West End. These apartment blocks hold a certain fascination for me, both for the patterns they create in the skyline and the way their monolithic facades hide in plain sight the colourful stories of all who live inside.
Somerset Deli
SOLD. Original acrylic painting, 30”x30”, on 1.5” deep-edged canvas. Artwork continues on all four sides of painting.
Exhibited February 1-21, 2024 at the FCA 2024 Artists’ Choice Exhibition
Somerset Deli in Morley, Western Australia. This corner store has been reinventing itself for decades in an effort to stay relevant in the community, although its current state of disrepair is hard to ignore. Now reduced to a wall of advertisements and reduced store hours, the deli’s legacy remains as a fond childhood memory and a virtual art project.
Granville
SOLD. Original acrylic painting, 24”x24”, on 1.5” deep-edged Canvas. Artwork continues on all four sides of painting.
Exhibited April 1-21, 2024 at the FCA 2024 Online Federation Showcase
Granville Street in 2022. The pandemic took a major economic toll on the street, and its once-vibrant independent storefronts have been replaced with pawn shops, loan sharks, boarded up windows, and tents. Artistically though, it hasn’t missed a beat.
Lean on Me
SOLD. Original acrylic painting, 18"x24”, on 1.5” deep-edged canvas. Artwork continues on all four sides of painting.
Exhibited April 1-30, 2025 at the FCA 2025 Online Federation Showcase
A colourful stroll down upper Government Street showcasing three local staples: Tai Sang Grocery, Brasserie L'Ecole, and Smoking Lily. A reminder of Old Victoria at is finest.
Spring!

Exhibited June 21 - July 2, 2022 at the Victoria Chapter: Fresh Start Exhibition
The season of cherry blossoms, blustery days, and optimism… and runs down to Chinatown for pork buns.
Nature of Things
AVAILABLE, $1500. Original acrylic painting, 24”x30”, on 0.75” shallow-edged canvas.
*Honourable Mention, Victoria Art Council’s “Art Victoria NOW” show, 2024.
A walk through Victoria’s North Park neighbourhood reveals a tale of survival. Homelessness, despair, and litter abound, but so does its perseverance as a working-class refuge and sense of community. An unabashedly honest neighbourhood, this is one of my favourite spots for artistic inspiration.
Beauty Contest
SOLD. Original Acrylic Painting, 24”x30”, on 0.75” Slim-edged canvas.
Exhibited April 1-21, 2024 at the FCA 2024 Online Federation Showcase
The side of Adams’ Food Fair on Haultain Street, home to an ongoing art battle between persistent graffiti writers and the defenders of tradition who insist on repainting their walls white.
Lamp-Eyed Lovers
SOLD. Original acrylic painting, 18”x24” on 0.75” shallow-edged canvas.
*2nd place, Federation of Canadian Artists, Chapter Challenge 2022
Christmas Eve, pandemic year one. La Taqueria on Fort Street. Empty streets, empty seats, and bright light shining through the window. We sat down for a bite on our way home after some last-minute Christmas shopping, and as I looked up this gem appeared before me. The lamps appeared like eyes staring longingly at each other, enjoying a quiet romantic moment.
Repair Shop
SOLD. Original acrylic painting, 18”x24”, on 1.5” deep-edged canvas. Artwork continues on all four sides of painting.
*Honourable Mention, Victoria Chapter, Federation of Canadian Artists Fall Show 2020.
The entrance to Williams Automotive, at the corner of Quadra and Finlayson. If there’s an image that captures why I love rough and tumble places, this is it. A simple structure that took mere weeks to build, yet has attained a beauty gleaned only from decades of wear and care.
Pushing Daisies
SOLD. Original acrylic painting, 12”x16” on 1.5” deep-edged canvas.
Discarded phone booths, strewn across a yard beside a mosque, in Lamu, Kenya.
The Departed
AVAILABLE, $1500. Original acrylic painting, 24”x30”, on 3/4” shallow-edged canvas.
*Award of Excellence, Sooke Fine Arts Show 2020.
Based on a photo from Tokyo in 2008. A bus crammed with students and workers, at once encouraged and mocked by the colourful advertising wrapped around the bus, promising a life that isn’t so easy to attain. Yet still they ride.
Believe
AVAILABLE, $850. Original acrylic painting, 18”x24”, on 1.5” deep-edged canvas.
An ode to mental toughness and seeing through the end of the pandemic. 2020 was a tough year for most of us, with no shortage of financial stress, mental woes, and fear during a time in our lives that won’t soon be forgotten. But thanks to plenty of determination and perseverance, the end did indeed come, and hopefully we’re stronger for it.
Fly Fisher
SOLD. Original Acrylic Painting. 24”x30”, on 0.75” shallow-edged canvas.
Private Commission of a fly fisher casting into Alberta’s Ram River.
Redfern Nursery
AVAILABLE, $1500. Original acrylic painting, 24”x30”, on 3/4” shallow-edged canvas. Size including solid-white floater frame 26”x32”x2”.
Welcome to Redfern Street, where a nursery of raccoons terrorize the residents with their general shiftiness and what-not-ery.
Villa Incognito
AVAILABLE, $500. Original acrylic painting, 16”x16”, on 1.5” deep-edged canvas, sides painted dark grey.
Cook Street Village does students like UVIC does rabbits.
Winter on Hollywood Crescent
SOLD. Original acrylic painting, 18”x24”, on 1.5” deep-edged canvas.
Another favourite source of inspiration. Set on Victoria’s scenic drive, winter walks through this neighbourhood reveal heritage houses, ocean views, long shadows, and glimpses of a life I will never lead.
40oz to Freedom
SOLD. Original acrylic painting, 26”x28” on wood panel.
Celebrating 30 years of this classic. No album broadened my musical horizons more than this one, as its elements of rock, ska, punk, hip hop and reggae tempted me into a world of diverse genres that grew my love and knowledge of music to new heights.
View
SOLD. Original Acrylic Painting, 36”x36” on 1.5” deep-edged canvas.
The notorious View Towers, commonly known as Crack Towers, due to its reputation for high levels of crime, drug use, and poverty. This brutalist apartment building was built under a cloud of suspicion in the 1970s, and has been the source of ongoing speculation for Victorians ever since. Yet on one sunny July evening, with the shadows casting across its facade at just the right angle, I actually saw something beautiful, even if it only lasted a minute.
The Joy of Life
SOLD. Original acrylic painting, 36”x36”, on 1.5” deep-edged canvas.
Let’s dance.
